Teens In Christ (7th-12th grades) (First Hour) Inductive Bible Study: The purpose of this study is to help the teens develop their own personal relationship in studying and understanding God’s Word. Through an inductive study on the life of Joseph and God’s Sovereignty from Genesis 37-50, teens will learn how to rise above their circumstances and “live victoriously through the power of knowing that God is with them. . . even when their dreams are shattered.” (Precept.org) Teens should bring a Bible, notebook and set of colored pencils. A workbook will also be required for purchase.
Teens In Christ (7th-12th grades) (Second Hour) Public Speaking: Public speaking helps apply reason to ideas, evaluate the world, effectively share one’s faith, make choices about what is learned, and search for God’s truth on a given issue. Each week will cover appropriate content decisions, research, organizational skills, build arguments, critical thinking and listening skills. Teens will work together to learn speaking and presenting skills and will create and deliver several speeches throughout the year. Speeches will be evaluated with a rubric and awarded points for assignments. Some homework may be required and regular feedback will be provided. All teens will need to bring a notebook and writing utensil each week.
